Sustainability takes center stage at Guabello
Sustainability at Guabello is a world of ethical and aesthetic values, in which excellence is a natural dimension, versatile and rich in meanings that go far beyond images and seasonal contents, to tell a story of craftsmanship concretely committed to valuing people and respecting the environment.
With an investment of 2 million euros, Guabello is increasingly focusing on the issue of sustainability by defining the essential “green” policy underpinning every activity of the woolen mill.
A future-oriented vision that increases even more the percentage of self-production of electricity from renewable sources thanks to the construction of a new large photovoltaic system on the entire area of the plant parking area and a further implementation to the one already existing on the roof of the plant.
The photovoltaic plant, totaling about 4,000 square meters, will replace 20% of the electricity from fossil fuels with a completely green input and will be able to produce about 600,000 kWh/year of renewable energy (annually and when fully operational). From the sustainability point of view, this facility avoids the emission into the atmosphere of about 207 tons of CO2 per year, an action that would otherwise be produced by 6,912 trees planted in the area.
This investment is in addition to the many energy efficiencies introduced over time in keeping with that policy of environmental sustainability geared toward minimizing the company’s impact on the environment and the surrounding area.
